A Transport Planning Role with Room to Shape your Future

This isn’t a job advert with a list of duties and a fixed title. It’s an invitation.

If you care deeply about transport planning, want more ownership in your work, and would like to help shape the direction of a growing consultancy, we’d like to hear from you.

Nota Bene Consulting, is a growing team of passionate individuals from various backgrounds, ages and experiences, all sharing the same commitment to making a positive impact through our solutions.  â€‹

Since 2020, we’ve worked with local authorities, combined authorities, and national bodies to help shape transport decisions that last. We’ve grown carefully, not just to take on more work, but to do the right work well.

If you are looking to join a growing team, with many opportunities to learn new skills and implement your learnings on a varied selection of project types, we would love to hear from you!

We will be closing this invitation to apply on Monday 11th August.

Our
Culture

What It's Like Here

We’re a small, values-led team doing high-impact work. Every week is different. New clients, new questions, and new opportunities to influence how decisions are made.

  • Challenge the norm – We think clearly, write well, and ask hard questions.

  • Detailed and creative – We care about rigour, and we value fresh ideas.

  • Humble and ambitious – We want to grow, but not at the expense of quality or values.

  • Collaborative and independent – We support each other without micromanagement.

Our
Ask

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings experience, judgment, and the motivation to grow with us. You might currently be a senior planner, principal consultant, or associate. You might not even work in the industry, but you do have great skills. We care more about how you think and work than what your current job title says.

We feel you would be a great fit if you have some of the following:

  • 5+ years’ experience delivering transport planning work; OR in a similar relevant field such as policy, research, the green book, strategy, project delivery, winning work, business case writing, appraisal, or modelling.

  • Build trust with clients through clarity, follow-through, and substance.

  • Can lead and manage projects, while staying close to the technical detail.

  • Understand how consultancy works: how relationships form, how work is won, and how partnerships are built.

  • Want to shape the business, not just slot into it. We want you to influence how we work, mentoring others, and creating space for better ideas.
